On Facebook and other social media outlets, we often see posts about National Donut Day, National Milk Shake day and others. Some national celebration days are important to us, like Labor Day and Fourth of July, others are more for fun. Just for the heck of it, I looked up a list of National Days for September and I selected National Tradesman Day.
If you have ever owned a home, you know how important our Tradesman are. Especially when you air conditioner goes out in the heat of the summer, or a pipe breaks and water is rushing out all over you floors. Tradesman and women are an integral part of keeping our homes and countries up and running.
So today, we will celebrate National Tradesman Day for all of the plumbers, electricians, HVAC, elevator repair, cable installers and every other occupation that we sometimes take for granted. From the National Day Website:
” NATIONAL TRADESMEN DAY
“National Tradesmen Day, initiated by IRWIN Tools, aims to heighten awareness of the role of professional tradesmen, who are the central focus on this occasion. Tradesmen contribute so meaningfully to our lives in so many ways. From building our homes, schools, and churches; to keeping our cars running; to keeping our lights on and keeping us warm; to fixing our leaky pipes – America’s professional tradesmen are the backbone of our nation. For some people, it’s just a job – a means to an end. But for professional tradesmen, it’s often a calling. And, it’s not just about doing their work – it’s about doing their life’s work. To show respect to the role that professional tradesmen play in the world, National Tradesmen Day places great value on the contributions they make to society each and every day.”
So here is a salute to all of the great Tradesman throughout our Nation!!
