Central Comm Sponsors a Good Cause

arthritis-jingle-bell-run

At Central Comm, we are always donating or sponsoring something in the local communities. This year we have decided to sponsor the Annual Jingle Bell Run. “The Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run is a fun way to get out, get moving and raise funds and awareness to cure America’s #1 cause of disability. In communities, nationwide, this annual event brings together people from all walks of life to shout “Yes, we will live life to its fullest while searching for a cure!” As a Champion of Yes, kick off your holidays by helping conquer arthritis once and for all!”

Wear a holiday-themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Show off your ugly Christmas sweater. Complete a 5-kilometer run or walk with your team members, spreading smiles, good cheer and a winning spirit … and be a Champion of Yes!

We felt like this was a great cause to donate to and kick off the season of giving. As I learn more about this disease, I become more convinced that finding a cure is something which needs to happen soon ! There are actually at least 100 types of this disease which have different labels .  There is Inflammatory Arthritis, Juvenile Arthritis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, and gout just to name a few. It affects people of all ages, from the very young to the very old. Arthritis causes pain, inflammation, and can be debilitating for those who have it. The number of people who will be diagnosed with arthritis over the next 20 years is due to exceed 67 million. I have friends who have suffered with various forms of this disease, and if, by sponsoring an event like this we can help the Arthritis Foundation push towards a cure, then we felt it was worth it.

These Jingle Bell runs are held all over the country. If you would like to becoming a sponsor, or simply donating whatever you can. Head on over to their website: http://www.arthritis.org/about-arthritis/
